I intended my resume to have a classic and structured appearance that highlights the activities I have done while showing off my strong personality. The wordmark is the key part to my resume, I decided I wanted to show my feminine and classic side with Sarah. I chose Baskerville a serif font because I wanted my name to resemble a script font. McCarthy is essential to my personality, I wanted it to be bold and be the focus point of my resume. Lastly, Sarah is set in a gray tone because in my opinion there are many Sarahs in the world but only one Sarah McCarthy.
I would like to work in the corporate Public Relations sector and ultimately work in a New York City practice. This resume would be acceptable because it is classic but is also bold and different just like the corporate world of the city.
I think my visual message is represented well in the resume through its design. The key part to my resume is my full name so therefore it has the largest font size and at the top of the page. I wanted my positions to be bold to showcase my experience and the rest is background information. The font of the information is copperplate a sans serif font because it is easy to read and more modern than a serif type. I also placed my education at the bottom but made it bold because it is important to let a future employer know I am a student of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications of Syracuse University. The last part of the resume is my contact information after they read my qualifications my contact information will be right there.
