Logo System

Visual Message: I wanted to have a classic and simple logo system that used color. I wanted my logo to be feminine and use my two favorite colors: pink and blue. I also wanted a logo tat showcased my Irish heritage and worked my initials into the image. The claddagh. therefore, was the best  image to use because it is a Gaelic sign of love and is used in my my family and the meaning of my last name is "Son of Love." I also could make the crown look like an M to represent my last name.

Audience: I wanted the design to reach employers and family and friends. The system needs to be professional and used in the field of Public Relations and as a stationary to send to my family and friends.

Design Strategy: I think my logo does a great job in communicating my image: traditional with a little flair. The Claddagh is a popular symbol and well known and no matter what your heritage most people can identify the heart and crown. The symbol therefore is traditional however I put my own twist on it by using bright colors. The salmon pink and blue complement each other and also showcase my personality of being jovial and bold. I also incorporated my Wordmark from the previous assignment because I think the design strategy is very similar to the symbol. I also wanted to use Baskerville as my font for displaying information on various systems because it has a clean look and a logo system should have a classic serif font in order to look presentable.

I really like that your logo had a great deal to do with who you are as a person and your family heritage. I think for a logo to really work, it has to be truly representative, and yours accomplishes that. The colors you chose work well together and don't overpower the design. You mentioned that it was feminine, but it is not overtly girly which is good. Lastly, I like that you incorporated the M from your last name in a subtle way. Great job!!!
