Unfortunately my logo was erased off my thumbdrive, however this is my rationale.
Visual Message:
When creating my logo system I wanted to convey a playful and girly message. Although I intend to apply and work in the sports industry, I wanted to create a logo system and stationary set that were the complete opposite of that. I created my logo system with the idea that I will not be using these in the professional world, only for my personal use. The high heel shoe and pink colors in my logo and stationary convey the message that I am feminine and fun, this is not necessarily a message I would want to send the sports industry, but it is certainly appropriate for my personal use. I think the logo system accurately portrays me because it reinforces that I am into fashion, and that I am girly even though my major is usually considered “masculine”. Also, my logo is clean and organized, two characteristics I would describe myself as.
Audience:
As I have explained, I plan on using this logo and stationary for personal use. I will use it for handwritten notes, family, and friends, not in the professional world.
Design Strategy:
The colors I have chosen to use communicate that I am feminine to my audience. When creating this logo, I wanted my audience’s initial reaction to be that I am interested in the fashion world, that I am feminine and that I am fun. The cartoon-esque high heel shoe portrays that I am fun, and the actual drawing explains that I am into fashion. As far as the text goes in my logo, I chose to use Albertus MT Std because it is crisp, clear and easy to read. I did not want to use a very feminine font because I still wanted my audience to understand that I can be serious, and that I am easy to understand. Also, I feel that if I had used a script font or something similar my design would have looked frivolous and unnecessary. The bold font sends the message that although I am fun and girly, I am still aware, present and serious.

Sources & Influences:
I was initially inspired by a logo Professor Hedges had shown us in class. The logo featured a mannequin with the students name inside it. This inspired me to create a logo that was fashion oriented. I then searched Google and found an image of a high heel, which I live traced, distorted and changed the color of. http://rekat.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/high20heel20template.jpg
Extras:
I have kind of discussed this throughout this whole rationale, but I think my choice of color really influences the message I am trying to send. I really wanted to convey the message that although I am looking to work in the sports industry I am feminine. The use of pink makes the image of the high heel that much more feminine.
