Blackboard

So one of the sites that everyone at Syracuse uses on a daily or weekly basis is Blackboard. While blackboard is the bane of some people's exsistence, it can be a great website and learning tool if used properly. The whole point of Blackboard is user interaction. Teachers post information, students view the information. Without interaction from both users, teacher and student, the website would be pointless and unhelpful. The design of Blackboard is one of the aspects of the website that makes it easy to use and a good tool. Each student logs in to their own page, with their own classes and organizations. It's organized with classes seperately and then subcategories in each class. The communication section allows a student to email or message any or all of the class members, including the professor. The function and success of blackboard depends solely on user interaction.

The design of Blackboard may be boring, but it does what it's supposed to do. I agree that it's easy to use, and I'd pick that over a complicated, overly decorated Web site any day.

The design isn't necessarily the most exciting, but I think that is okay because the purpose of it is not to excite students and staff. This website is functional, and successfully gets the job done.

A website that is so important for information and grades shouldn't be busy with design. The color may be boring and perhaps orange or blue should be incorporated but i also like that it is easy and not complicated to understand.
