Resume!

Visual message
I wanted to demonstrate a sort of professional creativity. I tried to accomplish this by making the body of my resume a serif font, and add a small flare to it through the curvier accent font. I tried to showcase my experience and consistent interest in similar fields of study. I guess I would call it ‘conventionalism with personality.’ At least that’s definitely what I tried to achieve.

Audience
My audiences for this resume would be for ad agencies (and smaller creative boutiques), corporate firms in their creative and marketing departments, and magazine/television network companies.

Design Strategy
I wanted to show versatility. I also wanted a message that illustrated an ability to adapt to a current situation and add a special twist to it. Therefore I picked Perpetua as my main font, a serif font but more interesting than Times. It also represents my professional tone. My mildly decorative font is Zapfino and I hope it keeps the resume from being too boring or unexciting. My name takes up the entirety of the top of the page because a lot of people need to see it a few times before they remember it. I’ve also put my last name in 50% opacity—it’s in capitals, but my first name definitely needs to stand out in a way. Finally, I’ve put my initials at the bottom left of my resume to complete the look of it rather than to fill white space.

Hope you like it!

The font you chose for your wordmark definitely sets the tone for the entire piece; it's both creative and professional, which is an important dynamic for a resumé. I also think the little "AM" at the bottom was an interesting and beneficial addition. It works well with the flow of the text.
