I wanted to convey myself as professional, yet personable through the design of my resumé. The contrast of grey and black in my wordmark represents my dual nature; one side of me is laid back while the other is bold. Since my first name is very common, I also wanted to highlight my unique last name. In addition, I intend my wordmark to be an allusion to public relations, which is about achieving synergy. By flipping the ‘i’ in my first name, the two i’s are sharing a point and forming a mutually beneficial relationship.
Audience
My resumé is designed for employers in the public relations industry, specifically in the non-profit sector. It can also work for a more modest organization or public relations firm.
Design Strategy
I wanted my resumé to be well organized, clear, and concise. The bold wordmark brings the reader’s attention to the top left corner of the page leads them down to the body text. I used a fair amount of white space to make my resume more inviting and less like a laundry list. For my body text, I chose Helvetica Neue. Its thin stroke and sans serif have a neutral quality that contrasts with the professional tone of Garamond, which I used for my wordmark, section headers, and contact information. I also used bullets to separate my dates to relate back to the shared point in my wordmark and bring unity to my resumé.

The way you played with the two I's in your name is quite creative; it certainly adds a little something extra to the resumé as a whole. Also, the entire layout is very neat and clean, so it definitely gives the piece a sense of professionalism.
