Over the past 30 years, the Buffalo Sabres have had three different logos. Two years ago, the team premeired its third logo and jerseys design, which brought back similar colors to the first jersey ever worn, but with a much different logo design. There was an uproar to say the least in Buffalo when the jerseys were premiered. Many fans strongly hated the new logo. The "Buffa-slug" as it was called, created a lot of drama in Buffalo and fans even made websites devoted to their opposition. In response, the team imediately introduced a third jersey with the old logo, and fans were much happier. This year, the Sabres redid the third jersey in a much more graphically appealing way. When the jerseys were released and sold in stores, right around the holiday season, they sold out in no time. The 3rd jersey uses the old logo, with some updates adn new colors. So, although the team could be playing better, the jerseys are doing great.
